Reference Screencasts

Create a reference

  1. Select New Reference in the File menu or click on the button Add metal located on the bottom left corner of the source view, or click on the icon
    New Reference
    located on the bottom left corner of the reference toolbar.
  2. An edition window appears on the right and enables you to create a new reference thanks to its numerous headings and fields.
  3. Fill the desired fields. Press the tab key to go to the next field. If you consider that some fields are not necessary, just ignore them; they will not appear in the final display of the reference.
  4. After filling the reference description, click on the button edit metal to display the created reference.

Edit a reference

  1. Select a reference, then click on the button edit metal located on the bottom left corner of the detail view.
  2. The details becomes editable, you can now fill the desired fields.
  3. At the end of the edition, click again on the button edit metal, the reference is updated and the detail view becomes read-only again.

Add Bottles

  1. Select a reference, then click on the icon Add Bottle to Reference located in the reference toolbar.
  2. An edition window appears, fill the desired fields and on the OK button to save the changes.
  3. In the Browser view displaying the status of the reference slate, make sure the number of added items appears.
  4. In the list view, also check the updated number of added items.

Create and link a tasting note

  1. Select a reference, then click on the icon located in the reference toolbar.
  2. A new tasting note window appears, fill the fields and click on the "OK" button to save the changes.
  3. In the browser view displaying the status of the reference, the slate indicates the number of tasting notes related to the selected reference.
  4. Go to the tasting notes area and access the note you have just created.

Choose the shape

  1. Select a reference, then click on the icon located in the reference toolbar.
  2. Select the references’s type of wine, then choose the right shape among the different suggestions.
  3. The new shape automotically appears in the browser view.

Tag a reference

  1. Select a reference, then click on the icon located in the reference toolbar.
  2. Select the tag corresponding to your need.
  3. The tag appears in the different displaying views.

Filter references

  1. Go to the reference filter bar.
  2. Filter your references depending on your preferences.
  3. The displaying of the references automatically changes and shows you the references in the newly defined way.

Sort out references

  1. Go to the reference sorting bar located under the reference filter bar.
  2. Sort out your references depending on your preferences.
  3. The displaying of the references automatically changes in the browser view.

How do I get the software? Am I going to receive a CD by mail?

Vinoteka is a completely paperless software, which means you'll receive your serial number by email right after your purchase. Then you just have to download the application from our website. You then won't receive any CD by mail, since you'll just have to download and install the software right after you have your serial number. The whole process is almost instantaneous.

1/ How to get Vinoteka: click on the button 'Buy' you can find on several pages of our website. Purchase Vinoteka, you'll receive a purchasing confirmation from Paypal when you complete the whole process. Once we receive the purchasing confirmation as well, our system sends you an email containing your serial number, which you'll need to the the registration.

2/ Download the demo version of the software available on our website by cliking on the button 'Download', located here for example. For more details about the installation, go to 'How to install Vinoteka on my machine?'.

How to install Vinoteka on my machine?

Here is how to install Vinoteka on your machine:

1/ Download the demo version of Vinoteka, available on our website.
2/ Vinoteka is downloaded in your machine, drag and drop the software in the folder of your choice.
3/ Launch the application; from the very beginning, it offers you 3 different choices:

        a) Use the demo version;
        b) Buy a license of Vinoteka;
        c) Do the registration process. Choose this option.

4/ Enter your email address (the one you used when you purchased Vinoteka) and your serial number.
5/ Your registration is done, you can now use Vinoteka.

How to change the language of Vinoteka?

Vinoteka, once installed on your machine, detects the language of your operating system and automatically starts in this language. If you wish to change the language of Vinoteka, you then have to change the language of your operating system.

To change the language of your operating system:

1/ Open the System Preferences of your computer.
2/ Click on 'Languages'.
3/ Drag and drop the language of our choice to the top of the list.
4/ Close the System Preferences.
5/If Vinoteka is open, close it then launch it again. if l'application wasn't open, just start it.

If might need to restart your computer.

If you wish to switch back the language of your application after you're done with Vinoteka, do the process described above once again.

How to change the decimal separator (for prices)?

Vinoteka offers 2 types of decimal separators you can use: the comma ',' and the dot '.'.You can use one or the other.
Here is how to change the separator:

1/ In the menu Vinoteka, open the Preferences of the software.
2/ In the section 'References', in front of the field called 'Decimal Separator', choose either the comma or the dot.
3/ As soon as you close the preferences of the application, it'll take the changes into account.

How to activate the auto-filling of the fields for the references?

One of the main features of Vinoteka is the auto-filling of several fields from one of them: when choosing the auto-filling starting from the appellation or the country, Vinoteka can indeed have the other fields 'Appellation', 'Country', 'Region', 'Subregion' and 'Classification' filled up automatically. The auto-filling feature allows you to go faster and more importantly, to link as much information as possible.

Here is how to set up the auto-filling:

1/ In the menu Vinoteka, open the Preferences of the software.
2/ In the section 'References', in front of the field 'Details Workflow', choose between 2 alternatives: auto-filling from the appellation to the other fields, or from the country to the other fields.
3/ Close the preferences of the application, it'll take the changes into account.

How to create a WIFI network between my computer and my iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad?

When you synchronize Vinoteka and Vinoteka Touch, your computer and your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad must be connected to the same WIFI network, whether yours at home or of the place where you are. If there is no WIFI network available but if your computer (on which Vinoteka is installed) gets wired Internet, here is how to create a WIFI network from your machine, so that your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad can catch it:

1/ On the top right-hand corner of your screen, click on the image , then click on 'Create a network'.
2/ Name the network and leave the automatic channel.
3/ The new network is now active, you just need to hook your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad to it and you'll be able to start the synchronization.

How to create a WIFI network between my computer and my iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad?

When you synchronize Vinoteka and Vinoteka Touch, your computer and your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad must be connected to the same WIFI network, whether yours at home or of the place where you are. If there is no WIFI network available but if your computer (on which Vinoteka is installed) gets wired Internet, here is how to create a WIFI network from your machine, so that your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad can catch it:

1/ On the top right-hand corner of your screen, click on the image , then click on 'Create a network'.
2/ Name the network and leave the automatic channel.
3/ The new network is now active, you just need to hook your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad to it and you'll be able to start the synchronization.

How to do the first synchronization between Vinoteka and Vinoteka Touch if the device is already connected to another computer?

In order to delete the connection between Vinoteka Touch and Vinoteka (delete the connection between Vinoteka Touch and any computer) and to rebuild the connection between Vinoteka Touch and another machine, you have to first follow the procedure to delete the connection between both applications; afterwards, you'll be able to rebuild it again. The explanation of the whole process is available in the user guide of the application, you can download it here.

How to change the language of Vinoteka Touch and/or Vinoteka Touch Lite?

Vinoteka Touch automatically detects the language of your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad and starts in the detected language (if it is one of the 6 available languages of Vinoteka Touch/Vinoteka Touch Lite). If the language of your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad isn't one those 6 languages, Vinoteka Touch/Vinoteka Touch Lite will automatically start in english.

If you nevertheless would like to change the language of the operating system of your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, here is how to do:

1/ Go to the Settings of your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad.
2/ Press the button 'General'. Then press the button 'International'.
3/ Change the language, your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad will then restart in this language.

Where to buy Vinoteka Touch and/or Vinoteka Touch Lite?

You can purchase Vinoteka Touch and/or Vinoteka Touch Lite on the AppStore, from iTunes or online. After you've purchased the application, it'll automatically be installed in your device via iTunes.
